Brand Redesign

Virtual College embraced a new brand in 2019 and commissioned a project to redesign their corporate website.

The project required the coordination of third-party design and development agencies, as well as close coordination with the internal Marketing Department.

I took on the role of Project Manager, managing the budget, risks and project timeline. The redesign gained favourable feedback from customers and helped the company to reposition itself as a bespoke e-learning solutions provider.

This interactive 3D timeline was launched to teach the history and evolution of safeguarding children legislation in the United Kingdom.

It became one of Virtual College's most popular pieces of content, ranking number one for the term 'safeguarding children timeline', attracting thousands of organic search visitors each month, and generating hundreds of newsletter signups.

I initiated the project and wrote the brief for the front-end developer. I agreed the format (WebGL), researched historic dates and provided copy for inclusion in the timeline.

Enable Learning Management System

Product Launch

Virtual College launched their flagship learning management software, Enable, at the Learning Technologies conference in February 2017.

The project required the creation of custom landing pages to support the launch, the creation and implementation of a content marketing campaign to promote the features and benefits of the software, and outreach to industry press and influencers.

I managed the execution of the project, working with the Head of Marketing and Marketing Strategy Manager, and tracked the ROI of activity. The launch was a success and generated £500K of sales within the first 12 months.

Platform Migration

Virtual College migrated their corporate website to a new content management system and eCommerce platform - Sitecore and uCommerce.

The project required user research, the creation of a functional specification, content strategy, content creation, website design and development, user testing, analytics setup and deployment to new infrastructure.

The project team included internal and external resources. Stakeholders were spread across the organisation, including Sales, HR, Innovation and Customer Support.

I managed the project on behalf of Marketing, setting up project controls, liaising with stakeholders and managing the work of project team members. The new website significantly grew eCommerce revenue and strengthened the brand as a leading e-learning provider.

New Business Concept

Virtual College launched a free careers advice service in 2016 aimed at students and young adults considering their future education options and potential career choices.

The project required website design and development, the creation of rich-content resources for students, schools and colleges, and outreach to local education authorities and academy trusts.

I managed the website project within Marketing and worked with a designer to customise a WordPress website to promote the initiative to education institutions and students. Over 30,000 students signed up for the service to access e-learning modules giving advice on different career paths.
